When a person is familiar with a worship song, he can close his eyes,”own” the lyrics as he sings and get lost in connection with God. The opposite is true with a new song. One mistake young worship leaders make is introducing too many new songs. Our “worship fatigue” for songs happens at a much more rapid rate than the average person. So, as worship leaders, we have to be more committed to the needs of the congregation than our need for artistry.
